AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket can be rooted easily using the SuperOneClick tool. The tool is famous in android world since ages, and is well known for rooting the Froyo and Gingerbread stock firmware. Unfortunately, SuperOneClick only works on Windows. Don’t worry, we are not letting the Mac and Linux users disappointed. We have put up method 2 below which can be performed on Mac or Linux platforms.

METHOD 1: USING SUPERONECLICK

Requirements

  • Download SuperOneClick tooland extract the content
  • If you have never connected the Skyrocket to your computer, you may have to download and install Samsung drivers

Instructions

  1. On your Skyrocket, go to Settings > Applications > Development, and enable USB debugging mode.
  2. Connect the Skyrocket to your computer via USB cable.
  3. Run the SuperOneClick tool.
  4. Choose zergRushexploit option the SuperOneClick.
  5. Click the Root button and wait for the process to finish.

During the process you will see thousands of lines of codes displayed on the screen. Don’t do anything while flashing is going on, else you may damage the phone. After the completion of the process, your phone should be rooted. To confirm you can install the Root Checker Basic app from Google Play.

METHOD 2: USING EASYROOT TOOL

Requirements:

  • Download Easy Root packageand extract the contents
  • If you have never connected the Skyrocket to your computer, you may have to download and install Samsung drivers

Instructions:

  1. On your Skyrocket, go to Settings > Applications > Development, and enable USB debugging mode.
  2. Connect the Skyrocket to your computer via USB cable.
  3. In the extracted content, double-click on the root.bat file and wait for the installation to complete. If you are on Mac OS X or Linux, run the following command in the terminal:

sudo chmod 755 Linux-Mac.sh

./Linux-Mac.sh

After the completion of the process, your phone should be rooted. To confirm you can install the Root Checker Basic app from Google Play.
